Fall Favorites

Fall seems to make me literally want to jump into my favorite fall movie or head out on a quest to find a cozy library and read all day with good coffee and a great book. The fall season is full of crisp air, colorful leaves, and even cozier vibes! It's the perfect time to embrace all things pumpkin, sweaters and jeans, watch all of the fall movies, and drink cinnamon lattes to my heart’s content. (I am not a PSL girl!)

As Joe Fox & Kathleen Kelly say in my absolute favorite fall film You've Got Mail,

"Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address."

I only wish I was headed for NY in the fall! Rewatching You’ve Got Mail for the 1700th time will have to suffice. I also love school supplies so that works out well for me.

This fall sentiment though is shared by many. Fall brings with it a sense of nostalgia and a desire to start fresh. It's also the perfect time to stock up on cozy blankets, boots and scarves, and of course, newly sharpened pencils.

Another of my favorite fall loving girls, Anne of Green Gables says,

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

It's hard to argue with her. There's something undeniably magical about the month of October. The changing leaves, cooler weather, fall carnivals, and pumpkin patches all add to the charm of the season.

One of my all-time favorite fall quotes is,

"The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let things go."

No one knows who said this, but the statement rings true. It is a lovely sentiment to let things go. Fall is a transformational time. Change is coming. Time seems to slow down a bit, and fall provides us all with fresh perspective. As the weather cools and the trees change their colors, it can feel like a fresh start, or at the very least the start of something new. The changing season is also a great time to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the next few months to come.

As you seek to find your “fall”, whether it be a warm blanket, a great new book, your favorite fall-flavored latte or fall-scented candle, remember the words of these famous fall enthusiasts. Embrace the season and all its magic, and let it inspire you to start fresh, and make the most of this beautiful time of year.
